High-Conflict Custody Coaching for Mothers — The E.C.H.O. Method by Dr. Karolina James, PsyD

About Us:

We are a coaching practice led by Dr. Karolina James, PsyD — a clinical psychologist who specializes in helping mothers navigate high-conflict custody battles with narcissistic ex-partners. Our practice combines advanced clinical training in psychology with lived experience. Our founder went through her own high-conflict custody battle and built the program we wish had existed when she was in it.

We are the creators of the E.C.H.O. Method, a structured four-month coaching program designed specifically for mothers dealing with narcissistic abuse inside the family court system. We built the program to address the gap between traditional therapy, which isn't built for the legal side of high-conflict divorce, and legal strategy, which isn't built for the emotional side.

We give our clients clinical, practical, and strategic support in one place.

Our work focuses on helping mothers stay grounded in court, communicate effectively in high-conflict situations, protect their children from the effects of a narcissistic co-parent, and avoid the patterns that cause the family court system to dismiss them as "the emotional one." Our clients come to us from across the country for the combination of doctoral-level clinical credential, structured methodology, and personal understanding of what the process actually feels like from the inside.

Our Process:

Step 1 — Application and Initial Consultation Every client relationship with us begins with an application followed by a consultation call. This is where we learn where you are in your custody situation, what you've already tried, and what you're most worried about. We use that conversation to determine whether the E.C.H.O. Method is the right fit for your specific situation.

Step 2 — Enrollment in the E.C.H.O. Method If our program is a fit, we enroll you in the E.C.H.O. Method — our structured four-month coaching program built specifically for mothers navigating high-conflict custody with a narcissistic ex-partner. We combine clinical insight, practical court preparation, and emotional support in one structured curriculum.

Step 3 — Weekly Structured Sessions We meet with you weekly throughout the four months. Each phase of our program addresses a different layer of the work — from stabilizing under pressure and understanding the narcissistic pattern, to building strategic communication, to preparing for specific court milestones, to protecting your children through the process.

Step 4 — Court and Communication Support Alongside the weekly curriculum, we provide support around specific high-stakes events — court dates, co-parenting communication breakdowns, written documentation for your attorney, and the moments when you feel yourself about to react. We coach you through real situations as they unfold.

Step 5 — Transition and Ongoing Resources As the four months close out, we walk you through the transition — how to maintain the work you built, how to handle future flare-ups, and what resources are available if a new high-conflict moment arises down the road. Our goal is that by the end of our program, you have both the skills and the confidence to protect yourself and your children going forward.
